Our principles

1. Adults, only.

AfterHer is an 18+ platform. Both the people who use it and the companions it depicts are adults. There is no fictional, artistic, or "just roleplay" exception to this.

2. Real people are off-limits.

We do not allow companions based on real individuals without verified consent. A recognisable likeness, a real person’s name, or biographical details pointing to one specific individual each trigger the rule.

3. Synthetic, and honest about it.

Every companion is AI-generated. We label the experience as fiction and never present a companion as a real human you are talking to.

4. Non-consent is never the fantasy we sell.

Dark themes can exist in fiction, but we reject content that casts the user as the perpetrator of non-consent or presents the act itself as the appeal.

5. We do not build for evasion.

Workarounds — content hidden in another language, a companion labelled one age but depicted as another, prompts engineered to slip past filters — are treated as the prohibited content they are working around.

6. We say "no" in public.

Our standards are published here, applied consistently, and not quietly different behind the scenes.

7. We tell people what happened.

Rejected and removed content comes with a reason, and decisions can be appealed to a human reviewer.

8. We respond to valid legal process.

We cooperate with properly-scoped, lawful requests from authorities, and we push back on those that are not.

9. We protect the people who moderate.

Reviewing harmful content takes a toll. We treat reviewer wellbeing as both an ethical duty and an operational necessity.

10. Safety beats growth.

If a feature cannot be made safe, we do not ship it. We would rather lose a use case than create a vector for abuse.
